• someone: I hate it when people say Ron and Hermione wouldn’t work because he’s “not on the same intellectual level” as her, like that actually matters in real life relationships, or because he’s this and that and Hermione is too good for him, as if the actual Hermione Granger character wasn’t flawed herself, or that they don’t understand how they got together, even though their relationship was developed from book 1 to 7, but I guess it all comes down to the irrational Ron hate that part of this fandom is so fond of while at the same time they idolize people like Malfoy, because Ron's flaws remind them of their own, while they've probably never met a Malfoy and it's easier to think you can change the brooding antagonist who is, after all, nearly a caricature in the books, or to pick a secondary character you know little about or an OC and fill them up with all the good traits you want to say that'd be a perfect match than it is to accept that your boy-next-door can be insecure and a bit of a jerk just like yourself, like it's unbelievable how they've managed to ignore and twist everything the books say about Ron and Hermione and they just can't get over the fact that it's a good canon relationship
  • a Ron Hater, crawling from the depths of fandom hell: actually, I don’t hate ron, I just don’t think they would work on a long-term relationship because they’re too different :) I think Hermione would want someone she can come home to from work and have deep intellectual discussions with. or that she stayed single! :) I’m fine with that too, lol, why settle?? or even someone like Malfoy, because she’s too smart and compassionate, she would care more about how intelligent he is than the fact he wished she, her family and her friends would die. ron after all has walked out on her and Harry like multiple times. nobody else has!! literally she could be with anyone else, lol, ron sucks a bit. Hermione is my favourite character and she's flawless. rowling herself and the entire harry potter cast said they didn't work!! sorry, just the facts. and renald has no ambitions?!? so he like... loves his kids and wife and stays at home?? lol a loser, she could have done better is all i'm saying :) he'll probably be jealous of her and cheat. no hate though!!
